The Washington Post reports:
A group of 17 House Republican freshmen, led by Rep. Beth Van Duyne (Tex.) wrote to Biden on Wednesday, congratulating him on his presidency and offering to work with him on issues where they can find common ground.
“After two impeachments, lengthy inter-branch investigations, and, most recently, the horrific attack on our nation’s capital, it is clear that the partisan divide between Democrats and Republicans does not serve a single American,” they wrote.
Other signers of the letter include Reps. Madison Cawthorn (N.C.) and Burgess Owens (Utah), both of whom had speaking roles at the 2020 Republican National Convention.
“We firmly believe that what unites us as Americans is far greater than anything that may ever divide us,” the letter reads.
