The Montgomery Advertiser reports:
A 70-year-old Alabama man had 11 Molotov cocktail devices “ready to go” in his truck when he was arrested during the breach and riot at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
Lonnie Coffman, of Falkville, was arrested on gun and ammunition charges Wednesday night near the Capitol after a pro-Trump rally escalated into an insurrection inside the nation’s Capitol building.
The bombs were constructed from Mason jars, golf tees and cloth rags, according to court documents. After his arrest, Coffman told authorities they contained gasoline and melted styrofoam, an explosive mixture that “causes the flammable liquid to better stick to objects that it hits upon detonation,” according to court documents.
Lonnie Coffman of Alabama left a gun on his seat. Police searched his truck and found an assault rifle and 11 Molotov cocktails with the effect of napalm.
When he returned to the scene and couldn’t get to his vehicle, he advised the cops that the red truck was his. pic.twitter.com/LFK5gXrZML

Oh, and he had two other guns on him, one in each pocket. https://t.co/k2nzXUGAl0

Imagine realizing your truck full of weapons is within a police perimeter, and you just approach the police and ask for assistance.

I’ve been trying to figure out what inspired Lonnie Coffman, a 70-yr-old from rural Alabama, to travel to D.C. Wednesday, allegedly w/ a gun & molotov cocktail materials. His old posts on a web forum called Patriots for America offer a bit of insight. 1/7 https://t.co/WgbN10tiMf pic.twitter.com/8RHivJlyJM
