The Des Moines Register reports:
Rep. Steve King filed an ethics complaint against House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday, objecting to the manner in which he was stripped of all of his House committee assignments last year.
In the 23-page complaint, filed with the House Ethics Committee, King argues he did not violate U.S. law, the chamber’s Code of Official Conduct or congressional precedent and removed without due process.
“The Congressional Research Service has confirmed that I am the only member in searchable history who has been removed from all my committee assignments, having never been accused or convicted of any criminal wrongdoing or having renounced my political party or investigation,” King wrote.
