Law & Crime reports:
A Donald Trump-appointed federal judge on Thursday dismissed a libel lawsuit filed by the president’s re-election campaign, which alleged that CNN intentionally published false statements about the administration’s solicitation of election assistance from foreign governments.
The decision marks yet another legal defeat for the president in the week since he lost the election to Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
The lawsuit—filed in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Georgia—stemmed from an op-ed penned by former general counsel of the Federal Election Commission Larry Noble headlined, “Soliciting dirt on your opponents from a foreign government is a crime. Mueller should have charged Trump campaign officials with it.”
