Event organizers today announced that this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square will be “a virtually enhanced celebration.” Organizers say there will be “an extremely limited group of in-person honorees, socially distanced, who will reflect the themes, challenges and inspirations of 2020.”
Otherwise, their announcement makes it sound like Times Square will be mostly human-free for the dropping of the ball.
But the “scaled-back and socially-distanced live elements,” which are still being figured out, will instead be available to watch online in the comfort of your own home, so you can still choose to wear an adult diaper if you really want to cosplay that classic NYC New Year’s Eve experience.
The Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball Drop will be virtual this year. Officials are in the process of planning an enhanced digital celebration.https://t.co/3IX8wvW1JX
