Politico reports:
New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg announced Friday that he’s blanketing Florida airwaves with a $40 million TV ad buy, the first since he pledged to spend $100 million in the Sunshine State to defeat President Donald Trump.
The massive buy, being made through the Bloomberg-funded Independence USA PAC, comes the same week that nearly 5 million vote-by-mail ballots are being sent to Florida voters in the the start of what effectively is a month-long Election Day in the nation’s largest swing state.
Bloomberg’s $40 million buy will be used to air ads daily on cable and network TV in each of Florida’s 10 media markets, according to an outline reviewed by POLITICO, with Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and Fort Myers deemed “tier one” priorities.
