Courthouse News reports:
Senator Bernie Sanders accused President Trump on Thursday of trying to steal the election, saying Trump “is prepared to undermine American democracy in order to stay in power.”
By casting doubt on the validity of mail-in ballots, Trump is “attempting to delegitimize the outcome of this election so that if he loses, he can remain in office,” Sanders said. “This is not just an election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden,” the Vermont Independent continued. “This is an election between Donald Trump and democracy.”
“If Trump can undermine people’s confidence in the validity of votes cast by mail,” Sanders said, “he will be calling into question the validity of votes that may overwhelmingly support Joe Biden.”
Bernie Sanders is explaining exactly how Trump will steal the election. Because the day of results will skew Republican, he will claim early victory before all the mail-in ballots have been received, and then claim mail voter fraud.
