NBC News reports:
Bypassing Congress, President Donald Trump on Saturday signed executive orders deferring payroll taxes for some Americans and extending unemployment benefits after negotiations on a new coronavirus rescue package collapsed.
Trump accused Democrats of loading up their rescue bill with priorities unrelated to the coronavirus. “We’ve had it,” he said at a news conference at his country club in Bedminister, New Jersey.
Trump said the payroll tax cut would apply to those earning less than $100,000 a year. He said that if he is reelected in November, he would look at the possibility of making the payroll tax permanent.
This “press conference” is a campaign rally – complete audience of supporters in the back who laugh at his jokes and boo the press. President Trump listing grievances against Dems, bashes Biden, provides little info for tens of millions of Americans in limbo over covid relief. pic.twitter.com/3xvJ2FXTfP

The president is getting ready to announce more Covid relief at his private club where people pay $350,000 each to be a member. That relief will be in the form of a check to be mailed by the post office he is trying to slow or shut down. Shit you cannot make up.

Trump abruptly ended his Q&A when @PaulaReidCBS asked him this: “Why do you keep saying that you passed Veterans Choice? It was passed in 2014. But it was a false statement, sir.” pic.twitter.com/roJ3ngGUdI

Facing questions he didn’t like, Pres calls news conference to an end. Will soon leave his NJ golf club for the Hamptons on Long Island to attend two campaign/GOP fundraisers, where the questions, if any, will be more to his liking. pic.twitter.com/Vz5qzz7twr
