Joe Biden announced in May that he would select a woman as his No. 2 – marking the third time a woman would be a vice presidential nominee for a major party – and his list of candidates also includes several women of color.
“I would be inclined to go a different route than what he’s done,” Trump told Clay Travis, a sports commentator. “First of all he roped himself into a certain group of people.” Trump went on to say that “some people would say that men are insulted by that. And some people would say it’s fine. I don’t know.”
“People don’t vote for the vice president. They really don’t,” Trump said, adding, you could pick George Washington or Abraham Lincoln “coming back from the dead. In the end, I don’t think it would matter.”
As he often does, Trump feigns innocence in trashing someone by claiming “some people say.”
