Infamous “S&M Catholic Priest” Found Dead In Home

The New York Daily News reports:

A kinky Bronx priest with a reported taste for S&M turned up dead in the New Jersey home where he allegedly paid $1,000 an hour to cavort with a muscle-bound boyfriend, cops confirmed Friday. The body of Peter Miqueli, 57, was found Thursday inside his residence in Brick Township, N.J., according to local police. The body was turned over to the Ocean County Medical Examiner to determine exactly how he died.

Miqueli resigned from the church one year after the scandal broke, and he was officially suspended by the Catholic Church in 2019 — barred from saying Mass or administering church sacraments. An investigation cleared Miqueli of charges that he looted more than $1 million from two Archdiocese of New York churches to fund his bizarre sexual relationship with the beefy younger boyfriend.

From a 2015 New York Post report:

A Catholic priest swiped collection-plate donations to pay for drug-fueled sex romps with a heavily muscled S&M “master,” a new lawsuit charges.

Miqueli also spent $60,000 in 2012 alone for “illicit and prescription drugs” he used with Keith Crist, bought a $264,000 home in Brick, NJ, and paid $1,075.50 a month for his master’s East Harlem apartment, court papers say.

“These charges of theft and misconduct have been made for at least 10 years,” said lawyer Michael Dowd, who represents the two parishes. Cardinal Timothy Dolan and the archdiocese are also named as defendants in the Manhattan court papers.
