TN Gov In Talks With GOP For Nashville Convention

The Nashville Business Journal reports:

Republicans are looking for a place to hold a party, and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee says Nashville is open for business. Lee’s office is in “early” talks with the GOP about moving the 2020 Republican National Convention from Charlotte to Nashville, Lee said Tuesday.

RNC officials are expected to visit Music City on Thursday. “Nashville is the best place in America to have a convention,” Lee said.

Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. President and CEO Butch Spryidon told Tennessee Lookout that he is aware of Lee’s interest but has not had any discussions with the GOP about moving the event to Nashville.
