Florida Today reports:
The state of Florida added more than 8,000 new COVID-19 cases for the third day in a row Sunday. The number of new cases counted Sunday was 8,530, according to data from the Florida Department of Health. Saturday saw a record 9,585 new cases.
Florida’s total number of novel coronavirus cases is now at 141,075. The state’s total number of cases has more than doubled since the Phase 2 reopening began on June 5 (61,488). The Department of Health has reported more than 5,000 new cases for four out the past five days.
The number of reported deaths increased to 3,419, an increase of 29 since Saturday. The total number of people who have been hospitalized is 14,224, an increase of 149 patients since Friday.
