Cuomo Order Allows Instant Loss Of Liquor Licenses

Albany’s ABC News affiliate reports:

Bars and restaurants found to be in violation of New York’s reopening parameters could risk immediate loss of their liquor license. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced two executive orders today.

The first would allow for liquor licenses to be immediately revoked from businesses in the event of violating reopening guidelines. The second would make these businesses responsible for the sidewalk or outdoor areas immediately outside their establishments.

The governor emphasized, amid the reopening, local governments need to do their part to help enforce the state’s guidelines. “The state cannot do enforcement of these local issues all across the state,” Cuomo said in his daily briefing.

Today was Cuomo’s last daily coronavirus briefing. Future briefings will take place “as circumstances demand.”
