MA City Closes Walmart After 23 Staffers Test Positive

The New York Daily News reports:

A Walmart store was forced to close after nearly two dozen employees test positive for coronavirus. Worcester, Mass., officials shuttered the superstore Wednesday when 23 essential workers — not equipped with protective gear — became infected with the potentially deadly virus, according to a press release late that afternoon.

“The City is ordering that the operator cease and desist operation of the retail establishment, including any food service, effective immediately and vacate all personnel,” that report said.

“The store shall remain closed until it is professionally cleaned and sanitized and a re-inspection by our health department can occur.”

A Walmart in Colorado was closed last week due to a similar rash of cases among employees.
