President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday he has “given up on” conservative news giant Matt Drudge. Drudge runs the most popular online news aggregator — the Drudge Report.
Recently, the site has turned over a number of articles criticizing the president’s response to the coronavirus pandemic noting that the U.S. has not peaked in its number of Covid-19 related deaths.
Drudge has distanced himself from Trump, according to a CJR report, dismissing his past support for the former reality TV star by saying, “That was three years ago.”
I gave up on Drudge (a really nice guy) long ago, as have many others. People are dropping off like flies! https://t.co/L77SXS2mE8

Yes, people are dropping off like flies…
Over 35,000 dead of #COVID19 because of your ineptitude.
Blood is on your hands, you grim reaping, racist, son of a klansman. https://t.co/svXDCU7Gsq

🚨 In rare statement, @DRUDGE responds to Trump’s claim his traffic numbers are plummeting: “The past 30 days has been the most eyeballs in Drudge Report’s 26 year history,” Drudge tells me. “Heartbreaking that it has been under such tragic circumstances.” https://t.co/MVVXX4rOUq
