The New York Post reports:
He could drive the snakes out of Ireland, but not the plague out of Manhattan. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade became the latest victim of the coronavirus on Wednesday, as the beloved annual fete was canceled over contamination fears.
The parade, set for next week, will not proceed, City Councilwoman Carlina Rivera (D-Manhattan) told The Post. Mayor Bill de Blasio had publicly mulled scrapping the celebration, but signaled earlier Wednesday that he would lean heavily on organizers’ opinions.
