Glenn Beck Would “Rather Die” Than Kill The Economy

The Week reports:

“I want to have a frank conversation with you,” commentator Glenn Beck, 56, said on his show Tuesday, the latest conservative to paint the coronavirus lockdowns in terms of life versus liberty.

“I would rather have my children stay home and all of us who are over 50 go in and keep this economy going and working, even if we all get sick. I would rather die than kill the country, because it’s not the economy that’s dying, it’s the country.”

Beck, like Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) on Monday night, is presenting “a false binary, and a distraction,” Christopher Hooks writes at Texas Monthly.
