Connecticut Is Sixth State To Postpone 2020 Primary

The Washington Post reports:

Connecticut on Thursday became the sixth state to push back its presidential primary because of the coronavirus pandemic. Gov. Ned Lamont announced the move on Twitter, saying he would work with his secretary of state to reschedule the contest, originally scheduled for April 28, to June 2.

The Democratic governor said the decision was part of “an effort to carry out democracy while keeping public health a top priority.” While three states went ahead with primaries on Tuesday, five have delayed votes — Louisiana, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland and Ohio.
