The Hill reports:
Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney, is requesting an early release from prison. In a letter filed in a Manhattan federal court Friday, Cohen wrote that federal prosecutors were “using innuendo, conjecture, and inaccurate opinions as a basis for urging the court’s denial of the pending motion.”
He added that prosecutors who oppose reducing his prison sentence from three years to one are engaged in a campaign of “continued ‘character assassination’” and that they “stubbornly” refuse to note the gravity of the more than 170 hours of testimony he gave to multiple government agencies, as well as congressional lawmakers.
Cohen began his three-year sentence in May 2019.
