Former Energy Sec. Rick Perry Rejoins Pipeline Board

That didn’t take very long:

Former Energy Secretary Rick Perry was appointed to the board of the general partner that controls pipeline company Energy Transfer LP following his exit from the Trump administration. Perry was appointed as a director of LE GP LLC, the general partner of the company Energy Transfer, on Jan. 1, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The filing says that Perry will be eligible for “cash compensation” for his work on the board.

He previously sat on the board of Energy Transfer until the end of 2016, according to ethics paperwork. Perry left the Energy Department last month and has been replaced by Dan Brouillette. President Trump announced that Perry would depart from his administration in October as Perry’s dealings with Ukraine were facing scrutiny in the House’s impeachment inquiry into the president.

Energy Transfer reported $88 billion in assets last year and is behind the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline project.
