The Associated Press reports:
President Trump on Tuesday sent an extraordinary letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) expressing his “strongest and most powerful protest” against impeachment, which he described as a partisan “crusade” by Democrats.
“This impeachment represents an unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power by Democrat Lawmakers, unequaled in nearly two and a half centuries of American legislative history,” the president wrote in the six-page missive.
CNN reports:
“You are offending Americans of faith by continually saying ‘I pray for the President,’ when you know this statement is not true, unless it is meant in a negative sense,” Trump writes in the letter. “It is a terrible thing you are doing, but you will have to live with it, not I!”
Trump is set to be the third president in US history to be impeached. The President was heavily critical of Democrats’ pursuit of impeachment, defending himself by asserting that the Articles of Impeachment introduced “include no crimes, no misdemeanors, and no offenses whatsoever.”

Trump just sent Pelosi a 6-page letter in impeachment:
On the 5th page, it reads, “More due process was afforded to those accused in the Salem Witch Trials.”

OMG, this Trump letter to Pelosi is filled with so many falsehoods, all documented in our claims database. It’s like written version of a Trump rally. https://t.co/QCp7AM6zj6

BREAKING: Trump has sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi that amounts to his only defense so far on his impeachment that reads like an unhinged rant, calling the impeachment a “fantasy” and an “illegal, partisan coup.” He also compares his circumstances to the Salem witch trial. 1/ pic.twitter.com/YsuqBk4z4v
