Newsweek reports:
President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani branded the impeachment inquiry worse than the McCarthyism of the 1950s and called it a “frame-up.” Giuliani is under scrutiny by federal prosecutors in part because of his activities in Ukraine.
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York has hit multiple Giuliani associates with subpoenas in recent weeks, The Wall Street Journal reported. Among the potential crimes listed in the subpoenas were money laundering, fraud, making false statements and campaign finance violations.
It followed the indictment of two businessmen who have worked with Giuliani in his Ukraine pursuits—Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman—on allegations of campaign finance violations, specifically the covert funneling of foreign donations to American candidates.
The Schiff frame-up based on no admissible and the trampling of rights to counsel, call witnesses, confrontation, cross examination are worse than the old McCarthy Communist hearings. Republicans stood up against it, Dems have all embraced this travesty. https://t.co/2dz8M5bxNr

NYT #FAKENEWS:
I did NOT pursue a business opportunity in Ukraine, as they misrepresented. I could have helped them recover $7B in stolen money, but I didn’t. Was paid ZERO.
They attack me because I have exposed their hypocrisy & how they covered up Biden’s massive corruption!

The swamp loves investigating corruption, except for their own.@realDonaldTrump has absolutely nothing to hide. But do Democrats?

Republican anti-communist McCarthy counseled by Trump’s mentor, personal attorney Roy Cohn..ruined many lives of those they did not agree politically. Rudy u are hanging by a thread…do some good, turn states evidence, before Parnas spills it all, beats you to amnesty.

Speaking of McCarthy, Trump’s buddy Roy Cohn was a big fan of his work. Roy Cohn was also a fan of mobsters.

Invoking McCarthyism in defense of trumpism is factually and historically ignorant. Joseph McCarthy’s right-hand man, Roy Cohn, was Trump’s most important mentor. pic.twitter.com/frao7Z5dWP
