Law & Crimes reports:
One of the complaints you’ll hear the most from Republican lawmakers is that the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry is behind closed doors and not accessible to all of them (recall the storming of the SCIF).
But one of the GOP lawmakers who actually is eligible to be in the room for depositions, as he is a Foreign Affairs committee member, simply didn’t go to hearings and hasn’t read testimony.
How do we know this? Because Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) said as much during a wild and revealing CNN interview on Tuesday.
Talking Points Memo reports:
A House Republican who’s been parroting GOP complaints about the impeachment probe’s “closed-door” processes admitted on Tuesday that he hasn’t actually participated in any hearings–despite being allowed to attend them.
“No, I haven’t gone to those,” Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), a member of the House Foreign Affairs committee, told CNN anchor Poppy Harlow. “We’ve had discussions in our Foreign Affairs committee on other aspects of what President Trump is doing, so I’ve been involved in those, not in these. I see these as kind of a sideshow.”
“Why?” Harlow asked. “Because it’s not an official inquiry in impeachment. It is something that Nancy Pelosi started without a vote,” Yoho responded
Just watched Poppy Harlow interview Ted Yoho on @CNN. Yoho’s answers – including that he hasn’t bothered going to closed session or reading testimony – were disgraceful even by GOP standards. Another reminder why the party has to be cleaned out from top to bottom.

Pretty remarkable exchange with Rep. Ted Yoho & @PoppyHarlowCNN today. After saying he has other responsibilities, he finally says he is heading into the Vindman testimony today. The first closed door impeachment inquiry testimony he will attend, he could have attended them all.

“I see this as a side show,” Rep. Ted Yoho says about why he hasn’t attended depositions in the impeachment inquiry, adding that he will be going to today’s testimony from the National Security Council’s top Ukraine expert, Army Lt Col.
