Disney Networks Ban All Netflix Ads Ahead Of Disney+

Market Watch reports:

Disney is banning Netflix ads across its TV networks, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, ahead of the launch of the entertainment and media giant’s Disney+ streaming-video service next month.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the WSJ report said Disney told staffers not to accept ads from any rival streaming services, but later reversed course and found a compromise with nearly every company, except Netflix.

In 2018, Netflix spent $99.2 million on TV ads in the U.S., with 13% going to Disney-owned networks, the WSJ report said, citing data from iSpot.TV.
