The Hill reports:
President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani said today he wouldn’t testify for House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry without consulting his client while also calling Democrats investigating the president “a joke.” Giuliani, who has faced mounting scrutiny this week over his contacts with Ukraine on behalf of Trump, told CNN that the work he does for the president would be protected by attorney-client privilege.
“Ultimately, if I were to say yes and he were to say no, I can’t testify,” Giuliani said. He also told CNN that he did not hear from committees looking into Trump’s discussions with Ukrainian leaders and reportedly laughed when asked if he was worried the House would subpoena him. “I consider them a joke. A sad joke. They have no legitimacy. I would think of challenging their subpoena on the grounds that they’re not a legitimate committee,” Giuliani said.
