Elijah Cummings: I Scared The Burglar Away By Yelling

Politico reports:

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) released a statement Friday morning following news reports Thursday his Baltimore house had been broken into. In a brief statement, the Maryland congressman confirmed that an intruder attempted to break in through his front door before being scared off by Cummings’s yelling.

“An individual attempted to gain entry into my residence at approximately 3:40 AM on Saturday, July 27. I was notified of the intrusion by my security system, and I scared the intruder away by yelling before the person gained entry into the residential portion of the house,” the lawmaker said through his office.
