De Blasio: I’m Likely To Beat Trump Because I’m Taller

The Hill reports:

Bill de Blasio is citing his height as a reason he can stand up to President Trump in the 2020 White House race. “A tall candidate has won, I think, every one but three of the presidential elections in history,” the New York City mayor and Democratic presidential candidate quipped during a Wednesday appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.”

At 6 feet 5 inches, de Blasio is reportedly the tallest mayor in New York’s modern history. De Blasio is so tall, The New York Times reported in 2014, that “city workers had to build an oversize podium for him, installing a custom sliding step that can be pulled out for shorter speakers.”

Trump claims to be 6’3″ but numerous photos of him standing alongside men of that reported height indicate otherwise.
