“In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York, and named after the great George Washington, commander in chief. The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.
“Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant.” – Donald Trump, last night.
Aside from there being no airports in 1775, the battle at Fort McHenry took place during the War of 1812, not the Revolutionary War.
Dear James,
We ran out of covfefe near a fortnight ago. We raided the planes’ hospitality carts to no avail. The Redcoats had diamond status and entered the jetway before us. I fear the Dunkin’ at Gate 35B has been overrun. We are at a disadvantage #RevolutionaryWarAirportStories— Rizzo Campbell (@RizzoCampbell) July 5, 2019
On this day in 1776, James Madison’s brother, Leslie, uttered these immortal words as the Continental Army defended La Guardia from the British Navy: #RevolutionaryWarAirportStories pic.twitter.com/PvNWuVsion

Dearest Martha,
After sailing our submarines undetected up the Potomac, we were able to safely dock near the DCA airport. Just in time to reconnoiter with our stealth bomber aircraft. I dream of your embrace, but this text will have to suffice.#RevolutionaryWarAirportStories— Laura Packard (@lpackard) July 5, 2019
As the Red Coats advanced through the terminal, we knew our time was running short. Morale was depleted, boarding began in mere minutes. “Hold them at the Hudson [News]!” Washington commanded. The battle of Logan Intl had begun. #RevolutionaryWarAirportStories
