Hemant Mehta writes at The Friendly Atheist:
Another day, another Catholic leader saying something idiotic on Twitter, then doubling down on it. This time, it’s Father Kevin M. Cusick, a former Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy chaplain corps, telling women to cover up their bodies to avoid offending the delicate sensibilities of men. Those hussies. Next thing you know, they’ll show everyone some ankle. WHO KNOWS WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THAT?!
Kusick is taking advantage of the thousands of responses to spew out and retweet dozens of anti-LGBT messages as well. It’s what Jesus would want.
Ladies, a priest I know was forced on Sunday to ask a woman at Mass to cover her shoulders. Please help the priest to protect the purity of the men at holy Mass by choosing to dress modestly. The alternative is awkward for all involved. Thank you.

Guess I triggered ‘em. What button should I push tomorrow? Suggestions? They probably need something else to occupy their time.

By the way: I’m not backing down from this. I’ve thought about it, I’ve prayed about it and i’m not to going to engage in the endless Vatican II style debate that goes back-and-forth constantly and ends up nowhere.

Marriage is only possible between one man-husband and one woman-wife.

Gender is for language.
There are only two sexes: male and female.
Physiology determines sex.

God help you: turning the most sacred thing we have, the holy Mass and Our Lord truly present into a punching bag for laughs. Aiding and abetting the cohort of the Evil One.

If we’re celebrating Pride this month, which deadly sin are we celebrating next month?

And this is why I despise organised religion. A woman’s shoulders are not provocative. Women’s bodies are not grenades, liable to explode at any moment. Men’s sexual/emotional/paranoid reactions to other people are entirely their own responsibility.

Actually, Jesus said if her shoulders are causing u problems, it’s on YOU, not her to fix the situation?

I love how men can’t control their own bodies and the solution is to control women’s instead. pic.twitter.com/bYUY3wf0bF
