Radio New Zealand reports:
The Australian teenager who smashed an egg onto the head of Fraser Anning says he has donated more than $100,000 [$70K USD] to the survivors of the Christchurch terrorist attack.
Will Connolly, whose act gained him the nickname Egg Boy on social media, said the money was raised through crowdfunding to cover his legal fees after he egged Mr Anning at a 16 March rally in Melbourne.
Footage of the incident showed Mr Connolly watching Mr Anning from the sidelines before he started filming with his mobile phone, and then smashing the egg on the back of the former senator’s head.
ABC News reports:
Covered in egg yolk, Anning, video showed, struck back at the Connelly, punching and kicking at the teen until being fully restrained. Connelly was tackled and put in a chokehold.
Anning, a conservative representing Queensland, is known for speaking out against immigration and in the past has actually used the words “final solution” — a phrase used by Nazis — while discussing Muslims’ immigrating to Australia.
The shooting in New Zealand killed 50. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern almost immediately vowed to change the nation’s gun laws. The gun laws were soon changed.
Anning lost his seat in last week’s election.

Finally!!! After a huge amount of red tape,$99,922.36 has today been transferred to the Christchurch Foundation and Victims Support. For those of you who don’t know, there were 2 Go Fund Me pages set up to help cover the cost of my legal fees and to ‘buy more eggs’. Gratefully, Gordon Legal acted probono for me so I don’t have any legal fees. I decided to donate all monies to help provide some relief to the victims of the massacre… it wasn’t mine to keep. I want to thank Corey and @sajjad12345 who set up the funds and every single person who donated to the money and made this possible. To the victims of the Tragedy, I whole heartedly hope that this can bring some relief to you. Keep spreading the love. ❤️🙌🏻
