“Can a city council discriminate based on the biases of its members? The San Antonio City Council recently voted to block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant at their airport and now a religious freedom-focused law group is calling for an investigation. San Antonio Councilman Roberto Treviño said that their decision affirms the city’s efforts to ‘become a champion of equality and inclusion.’
“Looks more like the council is the champion of exclusion in this case! I think San Antonio residents should hold their city council members accountable for this unfair decision. We know that Chick-fil-A has a great reputation for welcoming all people into their stores. And, no question, they serve a great chicken sandwich!” – Scamvangelical Franklin Graham, posting to Facebook.
Texas AG Ken Paxton last week launched a “religious freedom” probe into the San Antonio City Council’s action, which came after filings showed Chick-Fil-A has continued to make massive donations to anti-LGBT groups.
