Candace Owens Unleashes Bizarre Lies At House Panel, YouTube Disables Comments Due To Extremist Hate

Mediaite reports:

Candace Owens has had a winding road to testifying before the House about extremism. Just a few years ago, she ran an anti-Trump website that floated conspiracy theories about the size of Trump’s penis.

Then she took a right turn, straight onto the set of InfoWars. Somehow, she parlayed that insanity into regular appearances on Fox News. Then she defended Hitler’s nationalism. Now she’s testifying before the House.

CNN reports:

YouTube was forced to disable comments on a livestream of a House Judiciary hearing on hate crimes and white nationalism on social media Tuesday morning after it was flooded racist and anti-Semitic comments.

The hateful comments were an illustration of one of the issues at hand: Silicon Valley’s ongoing struggle to stop the spread of hate across its platforms. Lawmakers are exploring possible legislative options on the issue.

“Due to the presence of hateful comments, we disabled comments on the livestream of today’s House Judiciary Committee hearing,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement. “Hate speech has no place on YouTube,” they added.

The Forward reports:

At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the threat of white nationalism on Tuesday, right-wing activist Candace Owens said that the committee should actually be holding hearings on antifa, the anti-fascist political movement.

“If they actually were concerned about white nationalism they would be holding hearings on Antifa, a far-left violent white gang who determined, one day in Philadelphia, that I, a black woman, was not fit to sit in a restaurant,” Owens said, describing a left-wing protest group chasing her out of the restaurant.
