The New York Post reports:
Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg joked about brokering a “peace deal” between Chick-fil-A and the LGBT community during an interview on Tuesday. The openly gay mayor of South Bend, Indiana declared his appreciation for the fast food chain even though they have been accused of supporting causes that discriminate against the LGBT community.
“I do not approve of their politics, but I kind of approve of their chicken,” Buttigieg said during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. “Maybe if nothing else, I can build that bridge. Maybe I’ll become in a position to broker that peace deal.”
Earlier this month it was revealed that Chick-Fil-A donated $1.8M to anti-LGBT groups in 2017 after promising to end such support and stay out of LGBT issues.
