Playbill reports:

Performances begin March 16 at the John Golden Theatre for the Broadway premiere of Hillary and Clinton, a new play by Tony-nominated playwright Lucas Hnath (A Doll’s House, Part 2), directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello.

Starring in the title roles are two-time Tony Award and three-time Emmy winner Laurie Metcalf as Hillary, alongside two-time Tony Award and six-time Emmy winner John Lithgow as Bill.

In Hillary and Clinton, the politics of marriage, gender roles, and the limitations of experience are examined. Billed as a “profound and timely look at an American dynasty in crisis,” the play offers a behind-the-scenes look at a former First Lady named Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign.
