Trump Predictably Lashes Out At Former FBI Director

The Washington Examiner reports:

President Trump tore into Andrew McCabe on Thursday as the fired FBI deputy director embarks on a media tour for his new memoir in which he said he ordered an obstruction of justice investigation into the commander in chief. In a pair of tweets, Trump accused McCabe of being part of a wide-ranging conspiracy to take him down.

In an interview with CBS — his first TV interview since getting fired from the bureau last year — McCabe said he ordered an obstruction of justice investigation into Trump after he fired FBI Director James Comey in the spring of 2017. “I wanted to make sure that our case was on solid ground and if somebody came in behind me and closed it and tried to walk away from it,” McCabe said.

“60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley said McCabe told him that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein really did tell officials that he wanted to secretly record Trump and that this talk was taken serious.
