CBS News reports:
The governor of New Mexico ordered the withdrawal of the majority of the state’s National Guard troops from the U.S. border with Mexico on Tuesday, in a move that challenges President Trump’s description of a security crisis.
“New Mexico will not take part in the president’s charade of border fear-mongering by misusing our diligent National Guard troops,” Lujan Grisham said in a statement.
Lujan Grisham later tweeted a tongue-in-cheek video appearing to criticize the president’s ambitions to build a permanent border wall along the southern border. The video showed the governor physically running through walls in an effort to “make changes.”
Grisham took office last month after beating former GOP Rep. Steve Pierce by 15 points in November. Watch the clip and note the Trump poster.
