Mediaite reports:
Former FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe said in an interview on the Today show that is “about to file” a civil lawsuit against the Department of Justice over his firing. NBC’s Savannah Guthrie pressed McCabe about his firing, noting that an inspector general’s report concluded he had showed a “lack of candor” about leaks to the Wall Street Journal.
McCabe defended his long career with the FBI, criticized the report, arguing that he was fired because he opened an investigation into President Donald Trump. “I believe very strongly I was fired because of the steps we’ve just discussed,” McCabe said. “I was fired because I opened a case against the president of the United States.”
