The Hill reports:
President Trump on Wednesday dismissed his meeting with Democratic leaders to negotiate an end to a partial government shutdown as a “total waste of time.”
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) told reporters outside the White House that Trump “just walked out of the meeting.” The gathering lasted for roughly a half hour.
The president met with congressional leaders at the White House to discuss border security, which has been at the center of a partial government shutdown that has lasted 19 days and counting.
Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!
