Schumer Rips Trump’s “Temper Tantrum” As Shutdown Looms: He’s Not Getting The Wall In Any Form [VIDEO]

NBC News reports:

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Sunday said President Donald Trump is preventing a deal to avert a partial government shutdown because of a “temper tantrum” over his demand for more funding to build a border wall.

“We Democrats, Leader Pelosi and I, offered the president two options as to how to avoid the shutdown,” he said. “We should not let a temper tantrum, threats, push us in the direction of doing something even our Republicans colleagues know is wrong.”

Mediaite reports:

“Is there anyway you budge on at all on your number for border security on the 1.6[billion for border wall funding]?” the Meet the Press host asked the senator.

“Is there any middle ground that you would be willing to inch over to that you think could get 60 votes in the Senate?”

Schumer replied: “President Trump should understand there are not the votes for the wall in the House or the Senate. He is not going to get the wall in any form. Even the House which is a majority Republican, they don’t have the votes for his $5 billion wall plan.”
