The Jewish Forward reports:
Actress Roseanne Barr will visit the Israeli Knesset in late January to speak out against the boycott, divest and sanctions movement.
Barr, a pro-Israel activist, is set to tour Israel with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, founder of the World Values Network. She reportedly was invited to speak at the Knesset by Deputy Speaker Yechiel Hilik Bar and will go January 30.
The BDS campaign promotes boycotting Israel and its products until the country removes settlements from the West Bank.
The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (also known as the BDS movement) is a global campaign promoting various forms of boycott against Israel until it meets what the campaign describes as “[Israel’s] obligations under international law,” defined as withdrawal from the occupied territories, removal of the separation barrier in the West Bank, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and “respecting, protecting, and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties.
