Man Who Panicked Theater Patrons By Shouting “Heil Hitler, Heil Trump” Gives Sobbing Apology [VIDEO]

Baltimore’s NBC affiliate reports:

The man who shouted “Heil Hitler, Heil Trump” at a Baltimore theater performance of “Fiddler on the Roof” is apologizing. “I just want everybody to know I am sincerely sorry,” Tony Derlunas said. ” I am so ashamed. My heart goes out to all those that I ruined their night, to everybody that was affected by my stupidity.”

Derlunas, 58, cried during a conversation with 11 News on his front porch Friday. The Harford County man was too embarrassed to let 11 News film his face, but he did want to speak with 11 News to apologize for his behavior at the Hippodrome Theatre two nights ago during a performance of “Fiddler on the Roof.”

“I’m so embarrassed and ashamed and disgusted with myself. I didn’t think at the time about my frustrations with President Trump and I was trying to compare Trump to Hitler because he plays into the fears of people and it just came out wrong,” Derlunas said.

Derlunas, who says he was drunk that night, has been permanently banned from the theater. Some theater patrons ran for the exits during his shouting, fearing that a terror attack was beginning. Baltimore police are weighing possible charges.
