CHATTER AWAY: Overnight Open Thread

Playbill reports:

The new musical comedy The Prom began previews on Broadway October 23 at the Longacre Theatre, where it is set to open officially November 15. Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs the show, which features a book by his Aladdin collaborator, Chad Beguelin, and fellow Tony winner Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar, and lyrics by Beguelin.

The musical tells the story of an Indiana high schooler barred from bringing her girlfriend to the prom—and the group of eccentric Broadway folk who infiltrate the town in an earnest, misguided attempt to fight the injustice.

Reprising their performances from the 2016 Atlanta world premiere are Tony winner Beth Leavel, Tony nominees Christopher Sieber and Brooks Ashmanskas, Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla, Angie Schworer, Josh Lamon, and Courtenay Collins.

Beth Leavel is my favorite Broadway performer. I saw The Drowsy Chaperone four times, my all-time Broadway record. That’s her in the last clip below.
