The New York Post reports:
The far-right extremist group Proud Boys has been removed from Facebook following a brawl in Manhattan that led to at least six arrests. The group and its founder Gavin McInnes were banned from the social media platform on Tuesday as part of the company’s effort to remove hate speech and hate organizations from their site.
“We’re in the process of removing The Proud Boys and Gavin McInnes from Facebook and Instagram in line with our policies against hate organizations and figures,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement. The site will also remove any “praise and support” for the group once they become aware of it.
