Pop Singer Blasts “Abhorrent” Fox News For Using Hit Single Bulletproof In Story About Backpacks [VIDEO]

Billboard Magazine reports:

La Roux has taken Fox Business to task for using the song “Bulletproof” in a back-to-school segment promoting bulletproof school gear.

A broadcast of Mornings With Maria on Monday showed a segment on back-to-school gear lined with hard ballistic plates. The segment used a clip of La Roux’s 2009 single “Bulletproof” as the lead-in track, keeping only the song’s hook (“This time, baby, I’ll be bulletproof”) intact.

“Using ‘Bulletproof,’ a song I wrote about relationships, for a piece like this is abhorrent,” La Roux’s Elly Jackson said in a statement to Billboard. “I have never, and would never approve my music to be used in this way.”

My post about Fox’s “fashion forward” segment is here. Released in 2010, Bulletproof topped charts worldwide and went double platinum in the US. The clip below currently has 35 million views.
