The Hill reports:
Michael Cohen, who worked for years as President Trump’s personal attorney, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges of bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance law violations, delivering a potentially significant legal blow to the president.
Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts total, including five counts of tax evasion and one count of making a false statement to a financial institution, according to multiple reports.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of making an excessive campaign contribution on Oct. 27, 2016, which is the same date Cohen finalized a payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement over an alleged affair with Trump.

Very bad news here for President Trump in the Cohen pleas. Directly implicates an unnamed “candidate” in his campaign finance crimes. https://t.co/1676SxkUnM pic.twitter.com/qDYvnsp9UJ

This means the impact of whether Cohen is “cooperating” isn’t as big a deal as media made it out this morning. The Cohen plea itself is damning to Trump–it directly implicates Trump. Anyone who thought impeachment could not be on the table should be rethinking their position. https://t.co/iC2XTV9h1e
