DHS Secretary Jeered Out Of Mexican Restaurant

Mediaite reports:

Protesters tied to the Washington, D.C. area chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America heckled Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen out of a Mexican restaurant on Tuesday over her role in separating migrant families at the border.

The protesters chanted “shame!” and “abolish ICE!” at Nielsen while she sat at a restaurant table surrounded by security. As can be seen in the video posted to Twitter below, Nielson eventually left the restaurant.

The irony of Nielsen eating at MXDC Cocina Mexicana Restaurant while simultaneously being responsible for the break up of Hispanic families was not lost on the protesters, as one shouted “[she is] in a Mexican restaurant, of all places!”

The tweet below is from her spokesman.

While having a work dinner tonight, the Secretary and her staff heard from a small group of protestors who share her concern with our current immigration laws that have created a crisis on our southern border.
