The music of the all-female rock band The Go-Go’s, the 1980s hit makers behind “We Got the Beat” and “Our Lips Our Sealed,” serves as the score to this heady comic romp inspired by Philip Sidney’s prose poem Arcadia. Head Over Heels is making history with the casting of Peppermint, the runner-up of RuPaul’s Drag Race’s ninth season; when the musical opens this summer, she’ll become the first performer who openly identifies as a trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway. The musical played an out-of-town engagement at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre this spring prior to a July 26 Broadway opening at the Hudson Theatre. Previews begin June 23.
