The Chicago Tribune reports:
The pop-culture polyglot known as Cher snuck quietly into Chicago this past weekend. She was here to see three weekend preview performances of “The Cher Show,” a new Broadway musical about her life, work and loves that has its official out-of-town opening in Chicago on Thursday.
The 72-year-old iconoclast hadn’t seen the show in production before Saturday night. In this edited transcript, she spoke for the first time about the show, exclusively with the Tribune after Sunday’s matinee.
Q: “So what did you think? Enquiring minds want to know.” A: “Some parts of it are really fabulous. We’re going to work on the other parts. In many parts, it was much, much better than I thought it would be. And there were no parts where I wanted to gouge my eyes out.”
