The Salt Lake Tribune reports:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is ending its relationship with the Boy Scouts of America and will create new youth programs for its members. The church said the move will be effective Dec. 31, 2019, according to a news release. The announcement comes soon after the Boy Scouts of America changed their name to Scouts BSA to accommodate girls, who were were recently allowed to join the ranks of the male counterparts in the program.
The Mormon church is cutting ties with the Boy Scouts. The two organizations partnered 105 yrs ago, and up until a year ago Mormons accounted for 1 in 6 scouts. https://t.co/sDInvJixj4 pic.twitter.com/FULZPyhmVe
