Breitbart Slams Dems For Holding Up Homocon Richard Grenell’s Appointment As US Ambassador To Germany

Via Breitbart:

Nine Democratic senators facing re-election in November in states President Donald Trump 18 won months ago remain silent on the nomination of Richard Grenell as U.S. Ambassador to Germany ahead of the final vote Thursday. Grenell, who is openly gay, would be, if confirmed, the highest ranking openly-gay U.S. government official ever to serve.

Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Bob Casey (D-PA), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Bill Nelson (D-FL), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), and Joe Donnelly (D-IN) all have yet to go on the record as to whether they will vote to confirm Grenell, who once worked as a Mitt Romney campaign spokesman after he served as communications director for then-U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton.

None of those Democratic senators’ offices have answered comment requests from Breitbart News when asked if they will vote for Grenell’s confirmation. All are considered, to varying degrees, vulnerable to Republican challengers in the coming midterms.

Obviously, Grenell would not be the “the highest ranking openly-gay U.S. government official ever to serve.” In 2001, Bill Clinton appointed James Hormel as the ambassador to Luxembourg. In 2004, George W. Bush appointed Michael Guest as the ambassador to Romania. And of course, Obama appointed openly gay ambassadors to Denmark, Spain, New Zealand, the Dominican Republic, Australia, and Vietnam.

For their part, Breitbart commenters are split between denouncing all homosexuals as mentally ill, mocking Democrats for being hypocritical homophobes, and posting links to a Daily Stormer piece which slams Breitbart for caving to the “fag mafia.”

RELATED: In 2012 Grenell served as Mitt Romney’s foreign policy spokesman for about ten minutes until American Family Association radio host Bryan Fischer screamed bloody murder. Grenell then resigned, saying his effectiveness was “greatly diminished by the hyper-partisan discussion of personal issues.” In 2016, Grenell spawned outrage when he accused NBC reporter Katy Tur of sleeping her way into her job. Also in 2016 Grenell launched a trans-exploitive ad campaign attacking California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom on gun control. Grenell has a long history of misogynistic attacks, particularly on the physical appearances of Madeline Albright and Rachel Maddow.
